Luca Bolognini - Chair of the Italian Institute for Privacy - Graduated in Law from the University “Alma Mater Studiorum” of Bologna, he is a consultant for privacy and ICT law in Italy. He is co-founder and executive board member of the European Privacy Association. In addition to the many business activities launched in e-comm, he was also co-founder and president of the Gullivertown multimedia book company in Italy. Bolognini is currently involved in a number of italian think tanks and has been writing for italian newspapers (Sole24Ore, Affari Italiani, Corriere, Wall Street Journal, European Voice) and magazines for many years. He was the editor and author, with Diego Fulco, of the first italian commentary on “Privacy Code for lawyers and private investigators” (Giuffrè, Milan, 2009). Diego Fulco - Director - Attorney, born in Naples in 1970, works and resides in Milan. Has been collaborating with Riccardo and Rosario Imperiali since 1998, and specializing in data protection consulting for large, multinational corporations. He is called in as a speaker in seminars and conferences held by ASSOLOMBARDA, ANIE, IPSOA, LEARNING RESOURCES ASSOCIATES and by FORMAFUTURA to discuss distance control, privacy in the health and pharmaceutical sector, information security, and corporate penal responsibility. He has collaborated in a Legal Technology master plan for the Milan Chamber of Commerce, dealing with e-commerce and “all inclusive” travels. He is published on Giuffrè and Giappichelli magazines and law books.

Pietro Paganini - Secretary - Pietro serves as Adjunct Professor at John Cabot University (Rome, Italy). He held a Researcher position at LUMSA University of Rome (Rome, Italy). He also served as Researcher and Visiting Lecturer at Karlstad University (Sweden). He holds a Doctorate in Communication and Complex Organizations. He is co-founder and partner at Competere. He is Board Member of the Novum Institute (CO) and Baia-Network (Italian Chapter).

Paolo Balboni - Board Member - Attorney-at-law in Milan specialized in ICT law and personal data protection. He advises multinational companies mainly on legal issues related to data protection, IT contracts, e-commerce, cloud computing, Web 2.0 Service Providers’ liability, Internet content providers’ liability, e-signatures, digital retention of documents, and general IP matters. Additionally, he advises celebrities on privacy and copyright issues. He has developed considerable expertise in the following industries: communications, media, entertainment, IT, e-health, fashion, and financial services. Author of the book ‘Trustmarks in E-commerce’, Paolo Balboni is Research Associate at Tilburg University (the Netherlands) where he teaches the Master’s course “Liability of Web 2.0 Service Providers”; he is also Assistant to the chair of Internet Law (Diritto di Internet) at the University of Bologna (Italy). Selected legal expert for the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA) projects on ‘Cloud Computing Risk Assessment’, ‘Gov-Cloud’, and ‘Common Assurance Metric – Beyond the Cloud’, Paolo Balboni is regularly involved in European Commission Projects related to ICT and data protection, as well as regular speaker at international congresses on the same matters. Law Degree with distinction from the University of Bologna in 2002 and Ph.D. in comparative ICT law from Tilburg University in 2008, Paolo Balboni is fluent in Italian, English, and Dutch and speaks also German, French and Spanish.
